Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and versatile Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our dynamic data centre engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set in electrical, mechanical, and IT systems, enabling them to maintain and enhance the operational efficiency of our facilities. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our data centre infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Systems Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Infrastructure Management: Monitor and manage critical systems including HV/LV systems, UPS, generators, chillers, and power distribution units (PDUs).
- Network Support: Assist in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, incidents, and system performance metrics.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and visitors.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering teams, and subcontractors, to coordinate maintenance activities and projects, fostering a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices within the data centre.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds Qualification in an engineering discipline
- Proven experience in a data centre environment or a similar, critical environment role.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, HVAC, and network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and building management systems (BMS).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAP, Network+, HVAC, CDCTP certification) are a plus.
