Are you ready to lead one of the UK's most visible and impactful charities in the fight for housing justice?
About The Role
At Shelter, we believe that a safe, secure home is a right, not a privilege. Every day, we fight tirelessly to make this vision a reality for millions of people across the UK. As our new CEO, you'll have the extraordinary opportunity to steer our movement and drive the systemic change needed to end the housing emergency.
As CEO, you will shape and deliver Shelter's strategic vision with energy and authenticity, driving our mission to end the housing emergency. You'll represent Shelter at the highest levels, championing housing justice with policymakers, the media, donors, and supporters. Central to your leadership will be a commitment to anti-racism and social justice, embedding equity and inclusion into every aspect of our work.
You'll ensure Shelter remains accountable and sustainable by overseeing our financial health and taking bold, strategic actions to advance our goals. Additionally, you'll foster a positive and empowering culture, working closely with our talented Executive Leadership Team and Board of Trustees to develop our people and drive meaningful impact.
About You
We're looking for a leader who embodies Shelter's values-a passionate advocate for housing justice with a deep commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
You'll bring proven leadership experience, having successfully guided complex organisations through growth and change. With resilience and insight, you'll navigate complexity to deliver impact, even in challenging environments.
As an inspiring communicator, you'll engage diverse audiences, from local communities to key decision-makers, while building partnerships and fostering collaboration across teams, volunteers, and supporters. Visionary and strategic, you'll balance immediate priorities with long-term ambitions, driving progress even in an unpredictable external landscape.
Benefits
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, payroll giving, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme.
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We're here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
