Salary: £60,000 - £83,000 + Company Car/Cash Allowance, Performance-Related Bonus

Role Overview:
The Smart Buildings Major Projects Business Manager will drive expansion efforts, forge strategic partnerships, and lead a high-performing engineering team. Reporting to the Operations Director, this role will oversee the execution of major projects, ensuring financial performance, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction within the new build construction market in London and Southeast England.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Development:
Develop and execute the Major Projects business plan.
Collaborate with the Sales Department and Major Projects Sales Director to increase market share in the smart buildings sector.
Identify and foster strategic partnerships to drive business growth.
Operational Leadership:
Lead a team of engineers to achieve business objectives and meet budget targets.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with operational objectives.
Financial & Commercial Management:
Oversee budget planning and financial performance.
Develop accurate forecasts, analyse performance data, and present findings to senior management.
Ensure compliance with commercial and financial policies, making improvements to maximize efficiencies.
Team Development & Performance Management:
Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear objectives, and identify skill gaps.
Develop tailored training and development plans for direct reports.
Inspire and motivate teams by setting a clear vision and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Market Analysis & Competitive Differentiation:
Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
Identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation within the smart buildings market.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Senior Management, to support business objectives.
Promote a collaborative approach to addressing operational challenges and achieving business goals.
Site Management & Travel:
Travel to various project sites across London and the Southeast.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards on all sites.
Hold a valid full driving license.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
Proven track record in a Senior Management role within the construction or BEMS sector.
Experience leading major projects and managing engineering teams.
Skills:
Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
Exceptional commercial acumen with experience in financial forecasting and reporting.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
Requirements:
Full, valid driving license.
Willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
Desirable:
Professional qualifications in BEMS, Project Management, or Construction Management.
Familiarity with smart building technologies and sustainable construction practices.
