We are seeking a knowledgeable, keen and enthusiastic individual to join our SW Ecology Team primarily to assist in the day-to-day management of Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) and Licensable works at a flood defence and infrastructure project with which we are involved.
Ideally any candidate will have experience of the License system both for species protected by domestic and EU law.
Any candidate will be familiar with writing and reviewing Method Statements.
Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle required.
Prerequisite experience for Ecological Clerk of Works / Ecological Project Manager. Implementation and Compliance:
- Ensure the ecological mitigation measures within the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and Environmental Statements (ES) are carried out.
- Ensure the project adheres to relevant ecological licenses, planning conditions, or other regulatory constraints.
- Provide proactive advice on ecological matters, including the presence of protected species, invasive species, and sensitive habitats.
- Communicate and liaise with key personnel in our SW Ecology team to effectively manage and resource the implementation of mitigation measures and licensable works as necessary.
- Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for ecological considerations.
- Oversee works to ensure compliance and recommend necessary adjustments.
- Temporarily halt works when non-compliance with ecological requirements is identified.

What you can expect in return: Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum dependent on experience
