About the role:
We’re looking for a driven and experienced Sales Manager who thrives on selling. In this full-cycle sales role, you’ll focus on closing deals for our high-value, specialist laboratory equipment. You’ll visit customer labs, deliver product demonstrations, and build strong relationships with R&D and QC labs in the battery industry across academia and industry. This role is heavily weighted toward sales rather than business development and will involve frequent travel, sometimes up to a week per month, to Europe, North America, and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
Take ownership of the entire sales process, focusing on closing deals and achieving annual sales targets of £1,000,000 - £2,000,000.
Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers.
Visit customer labs to deliver tailored product demonstrations and consultative sales presentations.
Travel internationally (up to one week per month) to meet clients, attend trade shows, and grow the company’s global presence.
Leverage technical aptitude to understand customer needs and communicate solutions effectively.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience:
Proven experience in technical sales is essential.
Experience selling adjacent technical products, such as laboratory or medical equipment, or chemicals, is highly desirable.
The closer the experience is to our customers (e.g., battery R&D labs), the better, as an existing network would be a significant advantage.
Technical Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant physical science (e.g., Chemistry, Materials Science) is strongly preferred.
Technical aptitude to understand our products and customer needs is important; in-depth technical knowledge will be supported by our team.
Skills & Attributes:
Proven ability to thrive in high-value, long-cycle sales environments.
Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
Self-motivated, resilient, and able to manage frequent travel.
