About the Job We are looking for a Leader to join Eren Shotton Mill’s Leadership Team as the Manufacturing Manager. Reporting to the General Manager, the Manufacturing Manager will shape the containerboard & pulp manufacturing systems and processes to ensure the site can meet its full potential following Start up. As a member of the Senior Management Team you will also support in shaping the future direction and strategy of the Shotton Mill site which will employ over 400 employees at start-up. This position is located in Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales. You will be a key member of the project in a newly established team responsible for leading the installation, commissioning and start-up of a brand-new state of the art containerboard paper machine, OCC pulp plant and chemical and starch preparation area. You will be responsible for: Leading the development of a world class manufacturing site. Ensuring that all aspects are operated in accordance with environmental guidelines and consent limits. Leading the on-going development of the Shotton Mill safety culture and lead/support the development values that are aligned to all aspect of on-site safety. The effective management, control and optimisation of all manufacturing functions encompassing pulp & paper production. Leading technical optimisation of the newly started up operational assets. Leading and ensuring budgets and resources are aligned to meet site targets. Leading quality standards ensuring products are delivered on time and to the customer specification; whilst following lean manufacturing processes. Leading, developing and coaching newly developed technical paper making teams to ensure training, development and skills are at the highest level available to build a workforce for the future. Ensuring effective collaboration and co-operation between all departmental teams in order to develop an effective and efficient world class operation. Responsible for the succession planning, Talent management and engagement of your wider mill team in delivering sustainable success for the site. Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal customers, suppliers, contractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within all other departments and leaders of the mill. Developing and driving key performance indicators heightening role responsibility and increasing the efficiency of the paper making machine whilst also increasing performance and customer service levels within agreed budget. Collaborating with key partners and networks globally within all areas of your responsibility. Implementing plans to meet the site’s strategic goals. Skills and Qualifications Degree level educated, 10 years’ experience of Manufacturing within the Paper/Board industry. Advanced understanding of modern paper making technology and processes. Experience of Projects/Start-up of a board/paper machine is advantageous. Line Manager qualifications or experience of managing a team by providing coaching and leadership skills. IOSH, NEBOSH are essential. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing systems and tools and their implementation is advantageous. Reporting to the General Manager. Knowledge and Experience Previous experience of running a continuous Operational plant – 24/7.
