This individual ensures that embodied carbon targets are achieved and waste is minimized at every project stage. By working closely with consultants and internal teams, they lead workshops, conduct site audits, and ensure compliance with sustainability goals. ️ They also collect and report data to highlight progress. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a broad network of sustainability professionals and contribute to cross-division projects focused on waste reduction and environmental management. Responsibilities of the role but not limited to; Strategic Leadership: Take the helm at Design Team Meetings, pushing the envelope on reducing embodied carbon and minimizing construction waste. Your guidance will spearhead innovation in sustainable building practices. Empowering Education: Deliver engaging training and strategic updates to construction and design teams, ensuring everyone is on the same page and moving forward together. Proactive Engagement: Actively work with the management team and key stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous improvement in sustainability. Site Assessments: Regularly visit construction sites to ensure adherence to top-tier Environmental Management Standards. Your eagle eye for compliance is critical in the commitment to eco-friendly practices. Collaborative Improvements: Work hand-in-hand with project teams to enhance sustainability performance across all operations. Your expertise will drive our projects towards greener and more efficient outcomes. Cutting-Edge Compliance: Stay ahead of the curve by keeping updated with the latest sustainability trends, legislation, and best practices. Your knowledge will prepare and protect the business from environmental challenges. Desirable experience and attributes of the successful candidate; A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (e.g. sustainability, environmental management). 1-4 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience working in the construction Understanding of energy efficiency and management. Experience in data interpretation and reporting. Knowledge of environmental management systems and chain of custody requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to confidently interact with individuals at all organizational levels. Skill in motivating people to adopt new behaviours. Strong knowledge of sustainability issues in the construction and house-building industry, along with an understanding of environmental legislation, including waste duty of care. Comprehensive understanding of sustainability, encompassing environmental, social, and economic impacts of our activities.
