McClure Engineering is seeking a Sustainability Coordinator to play a crucial role in promoting environmental sustainability within our organization. You’ll collaborate with design and technical leadership, contributing to sustainable design strategies for institutional and commercial building projects. Your work will directly impact our commitment to eco-friendly practices and optimized efficiency.

The Opportunity

Coordinate Sustainable Design Products:

Manage and coordinate sustainable design strategies for multiple institutional and commercial building design and construction projects.

LEED (Leadership In Energy And Environmental Design) Documentation

Produce and manage the documentation process for rating systems and standards, primarily LEED.
Ensure compliance with LEED requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Stakeholder Engagement

Participate in the sustainable design process by hosting workshops, design charettes, and engaging stakeholders.

Environmental Impact Analysis

Perform conceptual environmental impact, energy, and lifecycle analyses.
Identify areas of inefficiency and unsustainable corporate practices, providing solutions to boost environmental sustainability.

Regulatory Compliance

Adhere to relevant local governmental regulations related to environmental best practices.
Ensure sustainability program processes align with environmental, governmental, and industrial standards.

Reporting And Communication

Develop and present reports on sustainability project performance levels and challenges to upper management.
Serve as a subject matter expert for internal and external clients.

Site Visits

May visit job sites to verify conditions and document construction for LEED requirements.
Site visits may require physical walk-throughs.

The Required Capabilities And Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
LEED Green Associate (LGA) certification or above is desirable.
Strong communication, teamwork, presentation, and organization skills.
Experience with environmental, energy, and life cycle analysis software is advantageous (e.g., Grasshopper, Honeybee, Ladybug, Climate Consultant).

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

The work environment is primarily indoors at the firms’ facility, with approximately 10% of time spent indoors/outdoors at project or construction sites where hard-hat and other safety gear is often required. (PPE is provided by the firm.)
While performing field work associated with this position employees will be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and carry and/or climb ladders of varying heights. The employee may lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
