London or Remote UK | up to £65,000 + Benefits | Hear from the team • An exciting role has opened up in our Legal & Board Governance Collective for a strong business manager with a drive to deliver and a keen interest in sustainability and commercial management. We are looking for an experienced business manager who enjoys getting involved with a variety of different projects, whilst also owning and managing a number of business as usual processes.
In this role, you will directly support the Director of Sustainability in achieving Monzo's environmental ambitions and indirectly support a number of senior Legal & Board Governance colleagues in their commercial management processes. The right candidate will enjoy collaborating with a wide variety of colleagues, working with new and evolving information and has a talent for pulling together large volumes of data and information into actionable plans that are aligned with Monzo's company goals.
You'll play a key role by...
- Collaborating with colleagues across the Sustainability Working Group, Legal & Board Governance Collective and wider organisation to drive impact and help unblock any challenges
- Keeping pace with new and evolving environmental and climate related rules and regulations that inform Monzo's obligations and commitments
- Ensuring that Monzo's Sustainability Working Group initiatives are progressed against plan and that risks and opportunities are identified, assessed and managed
- Owning and leading ad-hoc initiatives for the Sustainability Working Group, from scoping through to execution
- Refreshing and updating Monzo's sustainability related information that is published online
- Preparing senior stakeholder presentations, including Board materials, as well as strategic and ad-hoc communications
- Preparing management information, insights and reporting that support commercial decision making across the Legal & Board Governance Collective
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities in the commercial processes for the Legal & Board Governance Collective and working with our Finance team and external law firm partners to implement any changes
We'd love to hear from you are...
- Inquisitive, with highly analytical skills and quantitative thinking - you should be comfortable with spreadsheets and other analytics tools
- A problem solver with critical thinking abilities who has demonstrated taking initiative to improve the way things are done
- Great at engaging, collaborating and influencing people at different levels across different areas and able to thoughtfully and constructively challenge the people you work with
- Interested in sustainability and corporate decarbonisation strategies in particular. Hands-on experience with shaping and executing decarbonisation strategies is a bonus.
- Experienced with budget management and comfortable with reading financial statements. Hand-on experience with in-house legal spend and budgeting is a bonus.
- Someone with at least 8+ years of work experience in complex organisations with a proven track record of driving outcomes
The Interview Process:
Our interview process involves 3 main stages:
- Call with our Hiring Team, followed by an initial call with the hiring manager
- 1 hour Role Specific Interview
- 1 hour Behavioural Interview

This role can be based in our London office, but we're open to distributed working within the UK (with ad hoc meetings in London).
