JOB PURPOSE Reporting to the Head of Legal (Corporate, Finance, Procurement & Ops), this role will provide vital legal support to the business, working as a member of a highly regarded legal team which is responsible for the provision of commercially-minded legal advice and support to the business. In particular, this role will provide support to the Strategy, Sustainability, Treasury, Fleet, Engineering & Maintenance and Facilities teams, with the opportunity to support other areas when the need arises. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Supporting on strategic corporate projects such as acquisitions, disposals, investments, partnerships, joint ventures, corporate restructuring, etc, Advising the Treasury team on easyJet's payments arrangements, financing and security arrangements (EMTN programme, secured loans, etc.) and hedging arrangements. easyJet aims to be a responsible and sustainable business. This role will, in collaboration with our ESG lawyer, work with the Sustainability team to achieve these objectives. Advising the Fleet team and the Fleet Transactions teams on transactions relating to our fleet-related suppliers and our lessors. Supporting the business with the procurement of goods and services (particularly in relation to engineering & maintenance and fuel (including SAF)) by providing end-to-end support on Requests for Proposals and the selection and appointment of new suppliers, negotiating agreements and advising on issues relating to supplier relationship management. Some may be surprised to know that easyJet has an extensive property portfolio – ranging from our offices in London Luton Airport to a Hangar in Berlin to crew rooms in the many airports that we fly to. This role will support the Facilities Team to manage that property portfolio which may include negotiating leases and licences,negotiating consents or resolving disputes with landlords. Along with other members of the legal team, supporting the Senior Legal Leadership Team with continuous team improvement initiatives. COMPETENCIES Ownership and Delivery . KEY SKILLS REQUIRED 8 PQE UK qualified corporate or commercial lawyer (or non-UK equivalent). Finance experience is highly desirable and preferred. Significant In-house experience (whether by working in-house or through a client secondment). You understand the commercial world and feel comfortable being a part of the decision making process. You can cut through noise to get to the heart of an issue, and prioritise effectively. You also understand that your role goes beyond just advising on the ‘legal bits’.
