About the Role As a Senior Publisher within the Civil and Mechanical Engineering team at Elsevier, you will oversee a dynamic portfolio of journals, ensuring they meet the needs of the academic and professional communities we serve. Through strategic management and innovation, you will enhance the visibility, quality, and impact of our content while driving growth in this critical field. You will collaborate with researchers, editors, societies, and other stakeholders to deliver industry-leading publications that support the advancement of civil and mechanical engineering knowledge globally. Responsibilities Developing and implementing strategies to grow and improve the performance of your journal portfolio in terms of quality, impact, and profitability. Monitoring industry trends, citation metrics, and competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge. Building and maintaining strong relationships with editors, authors, reviewers, and society partners. Representing Elsevier at academic conferences and industry events, promoting the journal portfolio and engaging with the research community. Identifying emerging research areas and recruiting high-quality content to ensure journals stay at the forefront of the field. Collaborating with editorial boards to develop special issues and new journal initiatives. Requirements A degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, physical sciences, or publishing). Excellent knowledge or experience in civil and mechanical engineering. Proven experience in journal publishing, preferably in an academic or professional setting. Familiarity with open access models, impact metrics (e.g., Impact Factor, CiteScore), and publishing technologies. Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Fluency in written and spoken English.
