Director - Geoenvironmental & Geotechnical Engineering London £ DOE An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and motivated Director of Geo-environmental and Geotechnical Engineering to lead and grow a busy team of experienced engineers across multiple locations in the UK. This is a senior leadership position with the responsibility of managing a skilled team, overseeing operations, ensuring technical excellence, driving business development, and managing financial performance. Ideally full time permanent, but a 4-day week will be considered. Role Responsibilities: Leadership & Management: Lead and manage a team of 30 engineers. You will have 6 direct reports, including senior leaders, and be responsible for the overall performance and development of the team. Business Strategy & Development: Drive the operational strategy of the department, identifying opportunities for growth, expansion, and business development. Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring sustainable business growth. Financial Management: Oversee the financial performance of the division, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring profitable delivery of projects. Technical Expertise: Provide technical leadership and support on complex geo-environmental and geotechnical projects, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance. People Management: Manage the recruitment, development, and retention of talent, ensuring the team is well-equipped to meet current and future business demands. About You: To succeed in this role, you will be a senior leader with a proven track record of managing multiple teams and locations across the UK. You will have significant experience in geo-environmental and geotechnical engineering, and a deep understanding of both the technical and operational aspects of the business. Essential Skills & Experience: Chartered status with a relevant institution (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, etc.). Extensive experience in senior leadership roles, ideally as a director or in a similar capacity. Proven experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects across multiple locations. Strong business development, financial management, and strategic planning skills. Demonstrable experience in people management and talent development. Ability to balance technical and operational challenges with a clear focus on growth and efficiency.
