Job Title: Contract Manager (Clientside Quantity Surveyor)
Location: Homebased, covering projects in the North West regionSalary: £60,000-£70,000 basic salary + annual bonusBenefits:

Built on decades of innovation, managing large-scale projects, ensuring safe waste operations, providing tailored solutions, and developing new capabilities for a cohesive approach to waste management.Seeking a Commercial Manager to lead, direct, and manage the Commercial Contract Management team to deliver all aspects of Commercial Delivery for the Repository Portfolio. Main duties include:
- Lead and manage an effective Commercial Contract Management Delivery team for the LLW Repository Portfolio Frameworks, focused on delivering solutions, added value, and outcomes in line with business requirements.
- Work with Programme Managers and key suppliers to align Contract Management processes with the business strategy and mission.
- Attend key management and governance bodies, including Programme Boards and the Sanction Board, to understand the whole Repository portfolio.
- Support the implementation and delivery of commercial strategies (portfolio, programme, project, and package) that deliver the short, medium, and long-term benefits and outcomes required by the business.
- Manage and maintain a structured, effective, informed, and responsive supply chain that provides the capability required to deliver against these commercial strategies.
- Lead and oversee the management and successful delivery of commercial contracts, including implementation, mobilisation, regular contract management reviews, management reports, and close-out activities, including recovery plans for improvement with suppliers where required.
- Identify Site Services and Programme needs for new contracts and liaise with sourcing and strategy to deliver effective acquisition strategies for projects.
- Create, manage, and sustain appropriate supplier relationships to deliver strategic and business objectives while supporting sustainable business.
- Lead and manage supplier applications and spend forecasts, providing accurate and timely data, following processes and procedures.
- Lead, manage, and monitor Commercial Delivery Risk via key performance indicators and incentivisation arrangements, drafting and reviewing NEC terms and conditions, administration of the Early Warning Risk Register, Risk Reduction Meetings, Early Warning Notices, and Compensation Event processes, and appropriate recording of such data.
- Prepare estimates and cost plans where appropriate.
- Settle commercial disputes when required.
- Produce lessons learnt reports for post-contract reviews.
- Undertake and record Performance Reviews, providing thorough annual reviews of all direct reports.
- Manage overall team workload, including delegating responsibilities, setting requirements and expectations, prioritising tasks, and reviewing deliverables.
- Deputise for the Head of Commercial Delivery, in various capacities, as and when required.

What do you need to succeed?
- MCIPS or RICS Chartered Surveyor
- Proven ability to develop and communicate commercial strategy, as well as overseeing its implementation
- Defining contract strategies and structures using NEC3 suite of contracts
- Working knowledge of the Public Contract Regulations
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Ability to deal with people across a wide range of management and technical expertise
