You will be expected to provide robust advice to other members of the HaskoningDHV team, be able to individually develop your own leads and promote rewarding business development, and assist in the smooth running and continued successful development of the team. Job Role: We require an enthusiastic, optimistic, conscientious and talented person with excellent communication skills and technical ability. The candidate will need to be an efficient worker, enjoy the opportunities of a growth-orientated environment and must be able to work in a team and independently. The role will require close working with members of the various environmental teams across the UK and in Europe, as well as with staff across other Business Lines. The candidate will be responsible for the delivery of carbon accounting projects, including Life Cycle (carbon) Assessments. Your role will involve directly working with clients, problem solving and representing the company in client offices, regulator and stakeholder meetings. Candidates should have an in-depth appreciation of policy and technologies linked to climate change, and the scientific basis which informs national and international agreements on carbon reduction targets. It is likely that the candidate will be working and supporting on several projects simultaneously. Responsibilities: Carbon assessments, including impact assessments, in accordance with the latest best practice methodologies and guidance Carbon footprint reporting and GHG Protocol Science-based targets Life Cycle Assessments Carbon regulation and policy Support clients and organisations to develop carbon reduction and net zero carbon strategies, including technical analysis of applicable metrics that can be used to track towards emission reduction targets Project manage the delivery of small projects and project teams on their own or under the direction of a Project Director Make and input to key strategic decisions which affect the direction of a project Consult with stakeholders and regulators, and to remain up to date with policy and legislative development in a range of sectors Help foster leads, contact potential team members and to lead and assist with proposal preparation Liaise with existing clients and contribute to co-ordinated development of new business, assisting in the implementation of marketing initiatives Work on international projects, in accordance with best practice international methodologies, which may involve short-term missions for surveys and consultation Represent and promote Royal HaskoningDHV within the environmental marketplace through the preparation of literature, attending meetings and possibly conferences and seminars. Qualifications: This role might be right for you if you have: Bachelor's in a core science, environmental science, or related discipline, or equivalent alternative experience A minimum of 4 years’ experience providing similar services whether in-house or in a consultancy environment Sound carbon / GHG technical skills including the compilation of bespoke models / tools and emission inventories Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational, analytical and time management skills A proactive outlook, and the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team Focused, articulate and professional in appearance and standard of work Commercial acumen and recognition of growth of services Confidence at the client- and stakeholder-interface Willingness to travel, including possibly to international destinations What we offer you: Ambitious.
