We are seeking a Project Director to join our Energy and Natural Resources team in the UK, focusing on Transmission & Distribution. This is a key role in support of energy transition, bringing experience in the strategy, set up and delivery of projects for TNO’s, DNO’s and Private developers. We are addressing projects across the energy spectrum, encompassing substations, overhead and underground systems, and smart networks as the UK expands investment and technology to support distributed energy and a shift to electric vehicles. The Opportunity Due to an ever-growing portfolio of projects, we are looking for a Senior Transmission and Distribution professional to contribute to the success of our growing team. The focus of your role will be to provide leadership and support over a range of multi-disciplinary projects and pursuits including: Leadership - working within a team of high performing projects specialists across a range of multi-disciplinary projects and pursuits – this will include supporting growth of the team and supporting the development of team members. Business Development - Serve as primary point of contact with clients, understanding and leading the development of proposals tailored to their specific needs. Developing your network of contacts and industry profile. Delivery - lead, manage or undertake development for transmission projects and packages. About You Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution. Educational requirement may be substituted with equivalent years of experience. Minimum of 10 years of transmission and/or distribution project experience, with at least 7 years related to project delivery experience. You will have a strong understanding of the electricity system and be able to develop solutions across the Transmission and Distribution systems that improve network performance in construction and operation. Excellent written & verbal communication skills and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel. IT literate, with good knowledge of using Microsoft Office applications. Membership of relevant industry body including professional registration preferred, e.g. The IET, ICE, IMECHE. Strong network and business development acumen. Experience in the technical delivery of multi-disciplinary projects, whether that is from a consulting, utilities or contracting environment. Experience in client-facing roles, ability to provide robust advice and support design projects through clear communication of project status, issues and risks.
