The role is central in supporting our growth plans and shaping the future of the business and is an exciting opportunity to use your HR expertise and business partnering skills to deliver practical solutions to the business challenges. You will work with the account leads to build organization and people capability to improve business performance, identify key business needs and trends to shape and implement effective resource & succession plans, ensuring proactive solutions are identified in relation to skills gaps, talent attraction, and retention. This role will work closely with the wider People & Culture team to deliver and embed fit-for-purpose processes & initiatives that support the business to meet its objectives. This is a full-time permanent role and will be based in our office in Durham with travel to client offices as well as our head office in Chorley, Lancashire, as required. We do support hybrid working and you can work from home 2/3 days per week. You are encouraged to be curious about our business and to get out and about to meet the workforce and grow your knowledge of what they do. What will your day look like… You will be curious about the accounts you support and develop a good knowledge of the operational service that we provide to our clients to enable you to develop solutions for all colleague-related challenges. Specifically, you will: Lead the improvement of people capability, act as a trusted adviser and coach people managers to manage people issues successfully, incorporating best practices and mitigating any potential risk to the business. Take ownership and be proactive in developing resource plans to establish what skills the accounts need today and in the future in line with growth plans. Ensure solutions are in place to identify skill gaps, talent attraction, and resource mix required. Coach people managers throughout the hiring process to ensure we attract and retain the right skills into Avove from a diverse background. Work with the accounts and the L&D Partner to assess the skills, knowledge, and capability of our workforce today, identifying what we need in the future and building effective learning and development demand plans that support the growth of our colleagues. Use succession planning tools to identify the talent in your accounts and potential successors and ensure robust development plans are in place. Coach and influence people and managers to think differently, adopt new solutions, apply best practice, and consider the commercial impact on decisions that will impact the business today and in the future. Develop and drive the delivery of colleague engagement plans to identify ways to ensure Avove is a great place to work and reduces attrition on the account. Produce key colleague performance metrics, identify trends, provide insight based on data and take actions to support the business to improve performance. Provide feedback and contribute to the development of relevant HR policies, procedures, and initiatives. Support strategic business projects and change programmes. Perform other duties as directed by your line manager or management team. About you… To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate that you have experience of partnering with business/account leaders to develop strong and effective relationships. You will be able to show that you can make sound judgments based on business and commercial needs, ensuring we operate within the boundaries of employment law. You will be able to tailor business-centred advice on the interpretation and application of people policies and processes. Your previous role(s) will show that you can build effective working relationships with key stakeholders, such as the finance and commercial teams, and colleagues across all levels and that you are experienced in interpreting data to draw out key themes and design solutions to meet business needs.
