About the Role: PHD Global has an exciting opportunity for a talented social media expert with experience running complex, multi-market agency operations, as we roll out a new global operating model for one of our prestige clients at Omnicom, Diageo. Managing social media governance for Diageo, this individual will play a key role in ensuring consistent application of known best practices and mandated global requirements, ultimately achieving global efficiency and effectiveness targets. The Global Social Associate Director will own developing the overall paid media strategy, managing relationships and partnerships with social platform vendors, and ensuring teams' execution meets and exceeds client expectations. About You: Experience in activating social media - Whilst this role will not involve activating campaigns in platforms, having the experience in doing so at scale and ideally in multiple international markets is critical in order to succeed in building trust with the local agency activation teams and highly experienced clients. Highly organized with attention to detail - Diageo have extremely high standards for alcohol advertising regulations, media supply chain transparency, brand suitability and best practice governance. The Global Associate Director of Social Media is required to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously, whilst having an eye for detail. Have an opinion on the industry and drive thought leadership - A genuine interest in the social media industry and willingness to share their experience and knowledge is crucial. Be a natural collaborator and leader - Work and collaborate with internal teams (digital media, data innovation, digital operations, and regional teams in particular) as well as external (client, consultants, contractors, media partners). You will need to liaise with different teams in different parts of the world to make this role work. Qualifications: Experience building and/or managing social media accounts. Be a proactive self-starter, who is confident in building strong relationships with clients. Possess general knowledge of performance and brand marketing principles and strategies. Have a deep understanding of the interactive marketing landscape. Have polished presentation, communication, and analytical skills. Have strong organizational skills, being able to manage multiple projects at once. Know the difference between features and benefits and how to sell and deliver value. Responsibilities: Digital Media Excellence: Support the media transformation agenda; including omni channel media, connected data driven activation, progressive media and sustainable marketing. Market engagement to communicate updates and manage local requests. Update global biddable media guidelines regularly with rolling platform developments. Develop processes, methodologies, best practices and frameworks for the client team and broader functional team; work with team members to ensure they are being used. Consulting with individual client teams as needed to ensure best practices are being used and to brainstorm new approaches to achieving client goals. Help identify and test new channels, formats and products, highlighting results and sharing across the organization. Advise global senior clients and market activation teams on platform issues, brand safety and suitability, data, privacy, and measurement. Connect regularly with market leads to advise on any platform questions and issues, ensure JBP benefit usage, and communicate global client vision. Digital Platform Governance: Owning the global roll out of Omni Governance technologies to automate and scale the application of best practice in biddable platforms. Develop, coordinate and collaborate with regional digital platform teams on the global digital platform governance program, including governance of approved buying platforms. Operational media lead for the compliance with the Diageo Marketing Code globally. Innovation: Identifies and develops new social processes, strategies, frameworks, etc. for client. Meets with client teams to identify new management approaches, processes, optimization techniques, etc. to determine if appropriate to leverage. Meets with channel and agency partners to identify opportunities for integration, processes to leverage, etc. Evaluates, works with partners to secure and recommends Alpha/Beta tests. Provides oversight to client teams on testing approach, analyzing results, and merchandising internally and externally. Identifies and evaluates new channels and products. Partner Relations: Main point of contact for social partners. Point of escalation for partner related issues. Identify and evaluate new partners in the space. Negotiate and manage partnerships.
