You'll work to define the overall strategy for Tesco Group and oversee its delivery. This covers what the business delivers for all stakeholders as well as how the culture evolves over time. The work is split across three areas: ensuring formation and execution of long-running strategic priorities, solving specific strategic challenges, and overseeing the process by which strategy is devised and delivered. You will be responsible for Our Strategy Managers lead some of the highest priority, most complex work in Tesco. As strategy experts, they need to be able to create, mobilise and run virtual teams across all business functions to respond to challenges that are often new for everyone involved. This includes keeping focus on long-term strategic outcomes whilst developing roadmaps for medium-term deliverables and standing over near-term plans. The role is therefore ideal for somebody looking to build a broader network or gain experience working across multiple functions. It is a great opportunity for somebody to show what they can do as a leader – bringing challenge, clarity, and structure where no precedent exists, whilst leading peers and more senior colleagues to deliver critical business priorities. You will: Contribute across all Group Strategy work through active participation in the leadership team and the planning cycle. Provide subject matter support and development. Define and scope the strategic priorities you lead, establishing clear direction by shaping the ambition, priorities and business cases. Build cross-functional programme teams to establish and embed ways of working. Establish and facilitate the appropriate levels of governance to provide strategic oversight and direction for the programmes. Run interdependencies and impacts across portfolios/programmes. Drive progress in a consistent, transparent way, and identify and handle issues, risks, dependencies, and opportunities. You will need Significant experience developing and delivering Strategy in a large corporate environment. A proven track record of delivering complex and sustained change at substantial scale. Demonstrable experience of managing cross-functional project teams including peers and senior leaders. Experience of influencing senior stakeholders and facilitating challenging governance sessions. Annual bonus scheme of up to 45% of base salary. Car Cash Allowance. Holiday starting at 25 days plus a personal day (plus Bank holidays). Private medical insurance. Retirement savings plan - save between 6% - 10% and Tesco will contribute 1.5 times this amount. 26 weeks maternity and adoption leave (after 1 years’ service) at full pay, followed by 13 weeks of Statutory Maternity Pay or Statutory Adoption Pay.
