The opportunity Sillion is taking a new and advanced approach to climate scenario analysis, transition risk and opportunity analysis, and decarbonisation modelling. The role of the consulting team is to provide our clients with expert advice on developing and implementing comprehensive sustainability / transition strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and identifying opportunities for sustainable growth and / or net zero transformation. We are refining an in-house proprietary modelling tool that we use to solve multiple challenges pertaining to sustainability strategy and disclosure. We are already successfully delivering this product to FTSE100 and FTSE250 clients in a variety of sectors, from automotive to industrials to distribution. Our clients are making large-scale, real-world changes to their strategic direction and CapEx decisions from the insight that we provide. Given the successful delivery and referrals thus far, we are looking for a Head of Sustainability Consulting who is excited about building out our consulting offering, actively seeking opportunities to incorporate data from the proprietary modelling tool in the way we work with clients. Role overview As the Head of Sustainability Consulting, you will lead our sustainability consultancy team, define and develop our product offerings, manage account teams, convert new business leads, support and mentor junior team members, and help shape the strategy and structure of our company. You will work closely with the Head of Modelling to understand how to incorporate ESG modelling outputs into the consulting team’s product offerings, using our enhanced data capability to drive impactful and interesting client conversations. Responsibilities: Contribute experience and insight into Sillion’s strategic direction and offering, especially around our consulting proposition. Lead and grow client relationships, establishing a trusted advisor status with senior stakeholders. Develop and deliver compelling proposals with account leads, generate new leads, and actively contribute to business development and revenue growth. Provide senior oversight of multiple projects across their lifecycle, ensuring account teams deliver high-quality outcomes to clients, on time and within budget. Collaborate with our in-house modelling team to analyse sustainability data and provide actionable insights for clients. Understand and advocate for the interests of business stakeholders in internal prioritisation discussions regarding the strategic direction of our proprietary modelling tool. Perform line management duties, including conducting performance reviews, setting goals, and providing mentorship and career development guidance to consulting team members. Actively demonstrate thought leadership through co-authoring position papers, presenting at webinars and participating at leading forums. Collaborate with internal teams to innovate and enhance our service offerings, ensuring alignment with market trends and client needs. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team. Required experience: 10+ years of overall experience, 5+ years in consultancy, 3+ years in the sustainability space. Proven track record in sustainability consulting with a deep understanding of corporate net zero strategies and UK disclosure regulations in ESG and sustainability. Detailed understanding of C-suite and Board perspectives and requirements regarding sustainability and how to credibly deliver strategic business advice which resonates with senior stakeholders. Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities for our consulting proposition. Strong management capabilities you enjoy managing and developing high-trajectory teams. Strong sales track record you will have been a recognised business winner in prior positions. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels of an organisation. Useful experience: Experience working in a small consultancy or start-up environment, with a hands-on approach to business challenges. Experience with data-driven products and services, leveraging data to drive insights and decision-making. Proficiency in using data analytics and visualisation tools to support consulting activities and client engagements. Background in technology and engineering, with the ability to understand and integrate technical aspects into sustainability solutions. Location We work primarily from a beautiful office in London Bridge, as well as from our homes. A mixture of home and office working is likely to continue for the foreseeable future.
