The post holder will join a dynamic glaucoma team with a focus on surgical glaucoma. The glaucoma service has built a national reputation for pioneering glaucoma treatments and is at the forefront of clinical research in glaucoma, including surgical trials. The post holder is expected to contribute to developing all aspects of the glaucoma service further, including the training of fellows. Main Duties of the Job The post holder will be based at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. This post is full time and includes SPA's for supporting professional activities and administration. The post holder will be expected to provide a minimum of 4 to 5 clinics a week, with the associated admin time and access to theatres. Consideration will be given for time off in lieu due to bank holidays if the post holder is required to work on Bank holiday or on call over a Bank holiday. Person Specification Eligible for full registration with the General Medical Council at the time of appointment and with a current license to practice Successful completion of FRCOphth Entry on the UK Specialist Register Broad range of experience in general ophthalmology and sub-specialist areas of glaucoma. Core skills: Full range of glaucoma surgery, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery and filtering surgery. High proficiency in cataract surgery including complex cases.
