Senior Planner Sector Engineering Temporary assignment 6 months (potential for extension) Role Location: London/ Birmingham/ Manchester/ Bristol (site based) Start Date: ASAP End Date: 6 months Hours per Week: 40 Payrate : £45.00 per hour (PAYE) £50.00 (Umbrella) Outside IR35 Role Overview As a Senior Planner in our Transportation Division, you'll bring your unique skills and background to a variety of exciting projects and tenders. This role will be working for a global design, engineering, and project management consultancy. Key Responsibilities Project Controls: Provide comprehensive project controls to project teams and clients. Team Leadership: Supervise junior team members, allocate tasks, and provide feedback. Client Interaction: Attend and guide client progress meetings, ensuring project completion on time and within budget. Reporting: Deliver project performance data, schedules, and reports in a timely manner. Issue Management: Identify project deviations and communicate issues to senior management. Requirements Technical Expertise: Detailed understanding of transportation technologies (Signalling, Track, Structures, Electrification & Plant, Telecoms). Project Planning: Experience in programming multi-disciplinary engineering design and understanding engineering activities. Software Proficiency: Expert user of Primavera P6. Independent Work: Ability to perform project control duties with limited supervision. Contract Knowledge: Experience with various forms of contracts, including NEC. Risk and Cost Analysis: Proficient in schedule risk and cost analysis, claims, and enterprise systems. Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex matters professionally. Analytical Approach: Proactive, structured, and analytical with attention to detail and data quality. Qualifications Engineering Background: Qualification in Mechanical/ Civil Engineering. Professional Membership: Member of the APM. Project Experience: Experience working on large projects up to £50m.
