Are you an experienced Commercial Manager ready to take on a new role in a fast paced, vibrant rising star in the housebuilding industry?

Working from their office in Edinburgh, your role will be to provide commercial leadership across a range of residential developments currently under construction. You will be a team player and strategic thinker, be adept at managing costs and building sustainable relationships to drive customer satisfaction and project success. You’ll join a small but very successful team that thrives on achieving results and have a reputation for delivering beautiful and unique developments across the city.

This is a hands on / stand alone Commercial Manager role, one where you will be direclty responsibility for the commercial progress of each development.

As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the following day to day:

Supporting the company in achieving its budget and business plan through preparation, delivery, and commercial management projects.
Retain involvement in contractual disputes affecting the company, providing leadership and support in achieving the best outcome for the company.
Maintain regular contact with live projects by regular visits, and ensure that sites utilise correct tools in terms of forecasting, planning and resource management.
Carry out cost/value investigations regularly on projects that display concerns in respect of programme slippage and issues of risk.
Arrange/approve sub-contractor appointments, in conjunction with company procedures ensuring regular and vigorous financial checks of the supply chain.
Comply with the company SHE policies, procedures, safe and systems or work, work instructions and site rules.
Ensure projects are presented at all times in a way that underpins the business as a leading contractor in the provision of safe sites and qualify welfare facilities.
Ensure development programmes are in place to continuously develop the team.

What you'll need to apply:

A degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
Significant experience working in a simialr role (prefferrably in housebuilding or main contracting).
The ability to lead and manage a commercial team within the Construction industry.

This role would suit someone established at Commercial manager level but equally we are keen to hear from those who look to this role as the next step in their career path given the hands on nature of the role.
