The role
As a Highways Surfacing Project Manager you will work in conjunction with the Schemes Delivery Manager and the Construction Manager to deliver on the highway servicing programme. You will be engaged in the development of safe and well-maintained roads, with a vision of reducing road danger and congestion to help London become one of the best cities for walking and cycling.
In short you will

Collaborate with the engineering team to develop road surfacing designs that meet project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

Evaluate and recommend suitable materials for road construction and surfacing, considering factors such as traffic volume, climate conditions, and budget constraints.

Monitor and enforce strict quality control standards during construction, ensuring that road surfacing meets design specifications and durability requirements.

Prepare accurate cost estimates for surfacing projects, including materials, labour, and equipment costs, and help manage project budgets.

Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the timely and successful completion of surfacing projects.

Ensure that all surfacing activities adhere to safety regulations and best practices, mitigating risks to workers and the public.
About you
You will be joining a close knit, hardworking team who are excellent at what they do, and you will need to be comfortable working in a team environment and have finely tuned multi-tasking skills.
Some essentials included below:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Proficiency in relevant software and tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and pavement design software.

Previous experience as Highways Surfacing Project Manager

A keen eye for detail and the ability to implement and enforce strict quality control standards to ensure that road surfacing meets design specifications.

ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualified.

Understanding of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 management system standards

Understanding of environmental impact assessments and sustainable road construction practices, including runoff management and eco-friendly materials.
