Do you have project experience in environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA), and environmental and social due diligence (ESDD)?
If this sounds like you, or you're curious to learn more, then this role could be the perfect opportunity. Join our Impact Assessment Team as our new Senior/Principal ESIA Consultant and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.
Your new roleAs our new Senior/Principal ESIA Consultant, you will be part of our dynamic impact assessment team based in one of our UK or EU offices, who enjoy working on a wide variety of different schemes with a diverse portfolio of clients and are committed to adding value to their projects. With multiple projects internationally and in the UK, we encourage applications from those with experience in both areas, as well as those whose background and interests are focused in either one of these two areas.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Providing ESIA advice in conjunction with the Project Director
- Daily client and project team liaison
- Project management and delivery of tenders/fee proposals for ESIA projects
- Project meeting attendance, including stakeholder and public consultations
- Report writing, including drafting and technical review of reports, ESIA chapters
- Site inspections and desk-based environmental baseline data interpretation
- Business development, attending client/industry events
- Coaching/mentoring junior staff
About you- Appropriate degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering or a related environmental discipline
- Prior ESIA project management experience on complex projects
- IEMA (or equivalent) membership - Practitioner/Associate
- Ability to interpret environmental guidelines, policies, plans and legislative requirements
- Ability to contribute to the formulation of ESIA strategies
- Ability to work successfully with various specialists and sub-consultants in the delivery of projects and in the delivery of a consistent ESIA approach and reporting style
- Competent and efficient report-writing skills
- Ability to use a range of IT packages (including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Project)
- Knowledge of a particular environmental specialism would be advantageous but is not essential
- Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written
- Good organisation skills, with the ability to plan, programme and prioritise workload with minimal supervision
Candidates should note that there is a requirement to undertake International travel for this post.
