Human Factors Consultant

About the Role
Our client, an independent safety and risk management consultancy, is seeking a Human Factors Consultant at a senior or principal level to support the delivery and growth of their Human Factors services. The role offers flexible working options to support a healthy work-life balance and involves working on nationally and internationally significant projects across a range of industries.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with an experienced team, contribute to exciting projects in high-hazard industries, and develop innovative solutions to mitigate safety risks.
Responsibilities
Provide Human Factors Integration (HFI) and Human Factors Engineering (HFE) support for design and engineering projects.
Conduct HMI design and assessment, anthropometric assessments, and user trials.
Support safety case claims and conduct quantitative human reliability and error analyses.
Deliver training and develop Safety Culture and Competence Management strategies.
Engage with clients, prepare reports, and deliver presentations.
Contribute to business growth by supporting strategy development, growing the client base, and leading projects.
Requirements
Essential:
Degree (BEng, BSc, or MSc) in Human Factors, Ergonomics, or a related discipline.
Chartered Ergonomist & Human Factors Specialist (C.ErgHF) or working towards CIEHF Chartered status.
Minimum of 5 years' applied Human Factors experience, including at least 2 years in the nuclear sector.
Strong report writing and presentation skills.
Flexibility to travel internationally.
Eligible for UK security clearance.Desirable:
Experience in high-hazard industries such as nuclear, oil and gas, or defence.
Consultancy experience, including proposal writing and independent project management.
Familiarity with stakeholder management across diverse industries.
