Health Safety and Environmental Manager
Oxfordshire / Buckinghamshire
£65,000 - £70,000.
Benefits include a 10% bonus structure, private healthcare, dental, flexible starts and 1 day a week work from home.
Role Overview: In this role, you’re the one who is steering the ship. You alone are the one responsible for the health and safety strategies across a large, quite complex but incredibly well invested manufacturing site. You’ll be given the opportunity to collaborate on a global scale on projects too.
It’s highly unlikely that you’ll be successful in this role if you don’t understand complex product manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:

As the HSE Manager on site you will be advising, guiding and coaching site management teams on all matters relating to environment, health & safety.

Promoting the best health, safety, and environment culture.

The HSE Manager will be maintaining and developing the sustainability path.

Implementing site management systems in line with ISO 45001 / 14001

Providing regular proactive communications to key stakeholders on HSE best practice and initiatives

Developing and delivering a site HSE improvement plan aligned with the corporate strategy

Supporting improvement projects at both site and group level.

Providing support to sites on achieving customers’ sustainability targets

Supporting the investigation of accidents and incidents, and ensuring sustainable actions follow any identified corrective or preventative opportunities
Qualifications and Experience:
-
Previous experience in a Health, Safety and Environment role in Manufacturing, preferably Food as the HSE Manager.

A NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety.

Systems knowledge is essential, specifically in Microsoft Excel.

Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.

Meticulous organisational skills, able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.

Management systems experience and auditing – e.g. ISO14001, ISO45001.

Experience leading internal audits and liaising with external regulatory bodies.

Experience in people development.

Ability to analyse complex problems to identify multiple root causes.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver results.

Ability to communicate with stakeholders across all functions, at all levels of the business and within the local community.
