DescriptionIn an exciting environment of continuous growth, we are seeking an accomplished individual to join the business as a Risk Manager for our Flexible Energy Procurement service. This person will bring proactive industry expertise and embed it within the group.
The Risk Manager will be responsible for delivering successful outcomes for our Flexible Energy customers in line with their chosen purchasing strategy. They will keep abreast of industry changes specific to Flexible Energy and how this could impact Zenergi and our customers. They will interact with customers for complex market and product support and be responsible for ensuring adherence to internal SLAs, escalating to the Director of Energy Markets and Procurement when necessary.
The Risk Manager will support our customers by developing effective reports and management tools for our Customer portfolio as well as delivering competitive and accurate Flexible Energy pricing for the business. They will be the business expert in Flexible Energy questions or queries within the business for various stakeholders, both internal and external.
Primary dutiesProcurement- Responsibility for system and activity relating to the management of flex trades and portfolio, ensuring that all trades are recorded such that positions are always up to date and are auditable.
- Develop and maintain a suite of reports for portfolio customers, to demonstrate performance against various metrics such as market averages or budgeted cost and opportunity to forward purchase.
- Develop energy purchasing strategies which are in line with each organisation's attitude towards risk.
- Advising clients on gas and power purchases in line with each client's risk management policy and executing trades.
- Send regular reports to customers to keep them up to date with the latest prices and market changes as well as any recommendations in line with the agreed strategy.
- Report on successes to build credibility in the marketplace.
- To act as a specialist for the group, that can be accessed by internal and (at times) external customers where relevant (for example as an appointed specialist or customer advocate).
- Maintain a knowledge base for use by the group keeping apprised of broader energy policy developments, both in relation to wholesale markets and non-energy charges, and provide proactive thought leadership and product insights through regular 'did you know' updates.
- Facilitate growth through marketing campaigns and ongoing product/service development.
- Steer the Market Watch Committee, including market reporting for internal and external use, and ensuring consistency in customer consultation/recommendations via the appropriate team.
- Act as a complex query escalation point, liaising with suppliers, customers & internal functions as necessary.
- Support new business activity to facilitate new wins (presentations, visits, calls or tender information).
- Support renewal activity to facilitate customer retention or cross-sell opportunities (visits, calls, tender info).
Skills, Knowledge & ExperienceEssential - Ability to articulate and communicate in writing or verbally, adapting their style to the needs of their audience.
- Ability to deliver results under pressure while managing conflicting expectations of customers internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Ability to collate and analyse data from various platforms and sources, using the outputs to inform decisions and make recommendations to improve service.
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality in your work.
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 products and applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Power BI.
Desirable - Ability to interpret and analyse market data to inform decisions regarding the purchase of energy in line with agreed risk management practices and tolerance.
Knowledge Essential- In-depth understanding of the energy industry and the role of a Third-Party Intermediary (TPI) in the context of delivering products and services for customers, as well as the regulatory requirements and relevant codes of practice.
- Knowledge of risk management principles in relation to flexible energy.
Desirable- Knowledge and understanding of the products and services offered by the Company across all of its organisational units and areas.
ExperienceEssential- Experience of working with flexible energy products and services.
- Experience of working in the utilities industry.
Desirable - Experience of conducting energy trades including the use of baskets.
