An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly capable, experienced and motivated eRostering specialist.
The post holder will lead an experienced eRostering team and will be responsible for the continual improvement of eRostering practices and service delivery across all King’s sites and staff groups.
The role includes working closely with a supportive senior team, and senior stakeholders / professional leads to ensure King’s realises the benefits and meets NHSE ALoA eRostering and eJob Planning (non medical) standards.
Main duties of the job
Job Summary
- Develop & lead on the strategic direction & continual improvement of rostering, rostering practices and functionality of software across all staff groups.
- Lead on the implementation of non-medical eJob Planning software, create a job planning stakeholder group and collectively standardise job planning practices across non-medical staff groups.
- To lead and develop an experienced eRostering team.
- Implement the benefits of eRostering and eJob Planning, supporting the implementation of Lord Carter’s & NHSE ALoA recommendations across all staff groups.
- Lead on the eRostering /non-medical eJob Planning related initiatives which facilitate efficiency gains and/or cost savings for the Trust’s cost improvement plans.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to communicate and promote the optimal use of our workforce and deployment software. Stakeholders include clinicians, management teams, finance and people business partners, senior workforce colleagues.
- Lead on day-to-day provider contract management to facilitate optimal rostering / job planning benefits realisation. Provide support to Associate Director of People Services, Digital and Transformation and Workforce Planner & Insight Analyst for contract renewals.

Knowledge and Experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience of the Allocate eRostering suite (at least version 11.3)
- Previous experience of leading & managing an experienced team
- Experience in negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Experience and knowledge of Patchwork temporary staffing and eJob Planning software (nonmedical)
Education & Qualifications
- Graduate with degree in information services, HR, social sciences or a related field or equivalent knowledge gained through experience
- Project qualification (e.g. PRINCE2) and/or demonstrable experience of managing complex Trust-wide projects in the NHS
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and familiar with the concepts of relational databases.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to quickly secure the confidence of senior staff across various disciplines.
- Ability to demonstrate a complex understanding of key performance indicators associated with Workforce Productivity across multiple staff groups and convey their importance.
- Analytical skills: an ability to absorb complex data & information and develop, implement, and evaluate action plans, present, and communicate complex data in a way that aids decision making.
