Join our team as the Sustainability Manager and take charge of a greener future for Commerce City! In this innovative role, you will guide the City’s environmental programs, implementing forward-thinking strategies in energy conservation, waste reduction, and water conservation. Collaborating across departments and with external partners, you will ensure that our business practices align with sustainability goals while advancing innovative projects that position Commerce City as a sustainability facilitator.

Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
The hiring range for this position is $109,284.30 - $121,427.00 / annually

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Public Administration or related field, Master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of four years of experience working with environmental issues, community outreach, and program development. Municipal government experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

- public speaking to make presentations at public hearings and neighborhood meetings to convey and exchange information

- negotiate solutions among groups with diverse and conflicting needs
- focus attention to details when reviewing and preparing maps, reports, and records
- establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, consultants, contractors, developers, City employees, and the general public
- coordinate multiple projects and tasks, with special skills in project management
- work with minimal supervision and specific directions and to suggest workable solutions
