Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Head of Operations who will have direct line management responsibility for the Senior Operations Team and respective Team members and numerous offices across Wales,
As an organisation they deliver a range of Employability & Health contracts which support unemployed people ‘back to work’. This job role forms part of their Restart Scheme.
Key Responsibilities

As Head of Operations, you will be directly responsible for the effective performance for the DWP Restart Contract across Wales, supporting unemployed people into sustainable employment. This includes ensuring that all actions are taken to ensure this contract is delivered to agreed quality, compliance, and performance standards and within budget.

You will also be responsible for scheduling of resources, performance management, identifying skills gaps and training needs, monitoring KPI’s, ensuring ongoing development of the business and managing expenditure, budgets and forecasting.

The Head of Operations will ensure the smooth running and productive dynamics of their teams by acting as a lynchpin between all key individuals and teams behind/within the participant1s journey to Employment.

The Head of Operations will manage their teams by monitoring all elements of the performance and contract delivery, motivating, ensuring and supporting Colleagues to perform effectively their roles in supporting participants into and sustaining in employment.

The Head of Operations will develop and maintain professional relationship with internal stakeholders as well as with employers and wider Employer organisations.

The Head of Operations is responsible for the management of financial resources and facilities within their remit.

The Head of Operations is responsible for the continuous improvement at the team level and contribution of continuous improvement at the organisational level.
Person Specification
-
A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification).

Degree or relevant qualification. Degree topics may include psychology, sociology, social care/science.

Relevant qualifications would include Information Advice and Guidance NVQs, Brokerage Standard, Social Work qualifications or qualifications relating to work-based learning with the specific client groups this role will involve.

Level 3 or 4 NVQ would be of interest.

Understanding of Publicly funded Welfare to Work contracts

Strong leadership skills and excellent communication and relationship building skills

Technical skills include strong administration skills, enhanced computer/technology skills/spreadsheet skills to be able to understand and present data and trend analysis

Proven ability to handle major change and complex projects, whilst managing teams to deliver and overachieve business targets

Ability to use technology to deliver results and knowledge of welfare/benefits system

Willingness and ability to travel throughout UK as required to carry out the role

Extensive experience of Senior team management across multiple sites and multiple contracts within the Welfare to Work sector

Demonstrable experience of meeting contractual targets and achieving financial budgets

Experience and understanding of the design and implementation of complex operational processes across multiple teams
-
Experience of working on programmes targeting relevant disadvantaged groups in society
