Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Chief People Officer. As a member of the 'People Team' the key purpose of this role will be to lead on the Environmental Social (EDI, fundraising, volunteering) & Governance (Wellbeing, Responsible Sourcing) priorities and policies in line with our strategy and plans, which directly impact our customers, colleagues and communities. Whilst Promoting all people and planet (environment, workplace and community) related matters so that we remain profitable and sustainable for the future.
Key Tasks/Responsibilities:
Lead the Environmental Sustainability manager to meet all of the environmental, sustainability, compliance standards and legislative related requirements, which includes responsible sourcing, (SEDEX)
Lead on the implementation, sustainability and improvement of all policies which relate to the environment, social value and governance (such as MSA). Direct the organisation with the guidance required for an organisational Risk Register
Lead the community and wellbeing officers to achieve the community and workplace targets
Lead the community and wellbeing officers to manage and co-ordinate the Colleague Networks so that they are thriving, involved in organisational decision making, recommending improvements to senior leaders and representing our colleagues
Work in partnership with the CPO and Senior Leadership team to develop business plans so that we are diverse inclusive and compassionate in our approaches in line with our policies so that all colleagues feel safe and included at work
To drive continuous improvement so that we are achieving a competitive advantage through our best practice management processes
Lead on all new business tenders relating to ESG matters
To take the lead in educating, training and developing colleagues and leaders in areas of ESG
To ensure full adherence of all legislative requirements, providing advice and guidance to business leaders when necessary and defence of litigation as appropriate
To research and understand future legislative changes (ESG related) and the potential impact to the business
To lead and inspire all external stakeholders to work with us so social value metrics improve in the local communities.
Lead the Charity & Blakemore Foundation officer (1) to achieve great impact for our colleagues customers and communities

Person Specification:
Degree qualified or equivalent
Experience of all ESG matters
A thorough understanding of related legislation and regulatory standards
Ability to influence at senior levels within the business and with key external bodies
Excellent stakeholder and leader at a senior level
Responsive, flexible and creative leadership style with good commercial understanding / capability
Team player and good at developing others
Awareness and experience of leading programmes across a complex business
