Job Description:JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT:The key responsibilities of the Environmental Consultant role are to provide consultancy services to the Enitial client base to widen the chargeable services that are provided. To offer technical support internally to the wider team and provide report writing.
The role is to take responsibility for the safe and timely execution of multiple projects in accordance with budgetary, programme and quality requirements.
Projects will be primarily based on landfill sites and connected to pollution control systems; varying from one day to several weeks duration.
Support for a team of multi-skilled engineers both on-site and at head office, working collaboratively with other functions to ensure that project and servicing work is undertaken in line with client expectations.
Actively seek opportunities to grow the chargeable consultancy business for Enitial.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:- Preparation of environmental permit applications, environmental permit variation applications, environmental permit surrender applications and closure reports
- Provision of technical reports including environmental monitoring reports, landfill gas and groundwater action plans and pollution inventory returns
- Technical input to hydrogeological and landfill gas risk assessments
- Conducting environmental inspections and audits of environmental management systems
- Supporting the development of strategies for maximising gas extraction and minimising leachate
- Coordinating the monitoring of landfill gas, leachate, groundwater and surface water to confirm compliance with sites' permits and permissions
- Interpretation of monitoring results and the provision of regular environmental reports for clients and regulators
- Arranging environmental monitoring in line with the requirements of environmental permits and other operational needs
- Plan, manage and deliver all contracts in a professional and thorough manner to ensure quality, financial performance and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure contractual compliance on all projects.
- Identify business opportunities and communicate internally to ensure a proactive approach to new opportunities.
- Develop and maintain client relationships to promote new business.
- Support tendering and quoting activities as required.
- Provide management information on financial and operational performance of the department, activity and individual projects as required.
- Assist the management team in the production of an annual budget.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of environmental issues and technical methods.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments for the industry that may impact our work and clients and disseminate this information to the wider team
- Act as the main point of contact for clients and respond to any queries at the request of the client, resolving where possible and escalating where required
- Sales support, quoting and tendering assistance, client liaison and client service through the resolution of queries and issues
- Ensure that client's requirements are fulfilled in a timely, accurate and professional manner
- Provide the interface between the client and Enitial's operational, technical and finance teams
- Provide technical support and guidance in relation to clients sites and projects where appropriate
- Maximise sales opportunities with support from the Client Services team through a thorough understanding of the client's requirements and recognising opportunities to upsell
- Prepare and distribute information from the company to clients
- Scheduling and attendance of client meetings
- Ensure all work completed is chargeable and invoiced
- Communicates client needs to the wider business as the Client champion
- Ensure that we understand our client's plans for the future
- Identify key decision makers and organisational structure in the client's business and ensure their organisation know who we are and what we do
