Job Summary:
To work in an established team, maintaining the green and open spaces at Canary Wharf to a high standard
Main Responsibilities:
To work in a team maintaining turf, bedding plant displays, hedges, shrubs, trees, grass cutting, weeding, pest and disease control, plants in atrium and office areas.
To assist in all landscape schemes requiring ground preparation, planting and turfing, bulb planting and any other usual tasks which falls within the upkeep of open spaces.
Have knowledge of pests and diseases and how to control them.
To have experience of controls and monitoring automatic irrigation systems.
To carry out tree and aerial hedge pruning and have a knowledge of tree pests and diseases.
To observe and implement health and safety procedures in particular relation to the use of pesticides.
To perform litter picking duties in all landscape areas, as directed by the Landscape Manager.
To work within a team and also be capable of working on his/her own initiative with minimal supervision.
To assist other departments in emergencies and if workload is low due to weather conditions or winter seasons.
Develop and maintain appropriate and effective communication with other team members & Landscape Supervisor.
Adherence to Method Statements & Risk Assessments.
Take good care of all plant, vehicles and equipment that you use and report faults in accordance with Company Procedures.
Demonstrate an active commitment to self-development.
Must be competent with mobile phone technology as tasks are delivered via a smart phone.
What We Require of You:
Experience in gardening essential
Driving licence essential
PA1 & PA6 desirable
Experience in horticultural machinery
Horticultural qualifications desirable
