What this role entails:
To provide developmental biological knowledge to aid in increasingprotein yield from multiple different cell lines; as well as improvingdifferentiation efficiency. In addition to cell and media work you will beresponsible for conducting a range of molecular biology techniques working withcolleagues from across a range of disciplines. Contribute positively to thecompany culture and community.
Objectives:
- Perform cell proliferation and differentiation studies using a range of cell lines and material scaffolds to direct bioreactor design requirements.
- Improve and develop solutions for maximising protein yield in bioreactors
- Utilising analytical methods to assess biological functions within cell culture systems e.g. metabolism, immunocytochemistry, RNA extraction, reverse transcription, qPCR, protein isolation, Western blot.
- Use developmental biological knowledge to improve differentiation protocols of different cell types and species.
- Growing cells in different conditions for growth kinetics optimisation e.g. media development.
- Perform bioreactor runs, growing and monitoring our cells in our novel bioreactors.
Selection Criteria:
1) Experience
BiologicalDegree
2) Delivering for an organisation
Workedin mammalian cell culture with a strong developmental biological knowledge.
3) Team working
Demonstrable ability to work with a diverse range of people,working towards a common goal in a multi-disciplinary environment.
4) Expertise:
Essential:
Biological degree
Experienced at cell culture
Preferable:
Experienced in analytical techniques (PCR, Western, ICC)
Experience using bioreactors.
Knowledge of the cultivated meat industry
