The Infrastructure and Environment Group operate as an inter-disciplinary consultancy with multiple disciplines working together to optimise environmental and social outcomes. They are currently engaged in many of the UK’s largest urban regeneration and urban extension projects, including Garden Villages, Towns and Cities. This also includes a successful international portfolio of major projects. Opportunity: They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Transport to lead a new transport and mobility capability. The successful candidate will join the Senior Management Team to develop a strategic business plan, to expedite the plan and grow the transport and mobility consultancy. This will include overseeing existing transport planning and transport engineering projects, and to provide a quality backstop. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in transport planning and engineering, policy and environmental sustainability. Responsibilities: Lead, manage and grow the transport planning capability, including operational project planning, execution, and delivery. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the transport and mobility services within development projects and across a wider inter-disciplinary team and wider Group companies Proven experience in business development, project delivery and management. Grow, mentor and develop a team of transport consultants. Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success. Oversee the preparation of technical reports, proposals, and presentations. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability standards. Collaborate with architects, planners, and engineers to integrate transport and mobility considerations into design led activity. Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Work and develop relationships and understanding of other infrastructure and environment related disciplines, not just on EIA projects in a wide range of sectors, but also in other territories, including international projects where mobility is a key mainstay of early viability and concept design. Qualifications: Bachelors / Masters degree in Transport planning, or a related field. Experience in transport planning, preferably with a focus on the built environment and development sector within a consultancy role. Strong knowledge of transport, planning & environmental policy, regulations and best practices. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Proficient in using IT software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and GIS in addition to understanding value of transport related software packages. Skilled at writing efficient and effective proposals and reports.
