Overview of Role: We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Head of Risk to join and help lead our diverse and expanding risk team. For this senior role, we are seeking an ambitious individual with strong risk, controls and performance capabilities to help shape our risk proposition, support business development and grow the risk team nationally. This role will sit within the Programme Performance management team with opportunities in the transport (rail, local transport, aviation, highways), infrastructure (energy, utilities, defence and technology) sectors as well as opportunities to grow into wider Programme Performance roles. As a subject matter expert, you will be able to lead the delivery risk management on projects and manage the team supporting the Programme Performance Service Director. Supporting projects on both the international and domestic portfolio making this an exciting opportunity to join a growing consultancy. The candidate will also support and guide junior/intermediate positions, while driving projects requirements and activities. This role will also involve a level of communication with project clients and stakeholders. Responsibilities: As Head of Risk team you will play a key role in shaping development of both the team and the service we provide to our clients. Day-to-day responsibilities of the role will include: Working with D2 Directors to further develop our Risk management service offering. Shaping the risk processes and standards that we work to. Working with our in-house recruitment team overseeing recruitment and onboarding of new members of the Risk & Value team. Oversee professional development of D2 Risk professionals, ensuring appropriate learning and development strategies are in place. Collaborate with our clients to deliver best in class risk services. Conduct integrated quantitative risk analysis (cost and schedule), including what-if scenarios to inform project contingency levels. Familiarity of the various lens’ risk should be viewed through i.e. not just QRA, including but not limited to Benchmarking, RCF, stress-testing, variance modelling, AI etc. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate experienced levels of competence with tools such as Safran and @risk or similar. Familiarity with other risk/Programme Performance tools – Nodes and Links, nPlan, Acumen Fuse, ARM and Power BI. Familiarity with sustainability and social value risk management including TCFD. Bid and project management experience for public and private clients. Requirements: Energy, enthusiasm, and a self-driven can-do approach. A people person who can work collaboratively within a wider team. Excellent organisation and time management skills. Appropriate professional qualifications e.g. IRM, M_O_R, APM. A proven track-record (10+ years) in programme and project delivery across the full project lifecycle, focused on Risk Management. Experience of working in major programme delivery. Proven technical capability in Quantitative Risk Analysis, utilising tools such as Safran Risk Manager, Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis, @Risk, etc. Experience of working in professional services consultancy in addition to programme and project delivery.
