Role: Non-Executive Board Chairperson
Responsible to: The Board
Responsible for: Contributing to Governance, Leadership, and financial stability of RetrofitWorks.
Location: 50% of meetings take place in person in London. The other 50% will be online via MS Teams. Additional ad hoc strategic meetings typically take place throughout the year.
Hours: Commitment to an average of one day per weekly, and to attend bimonthly Board meetings and ad-hoc extra-ordinary meetings where required.
Duration: The term of the post it's for an initial two years and subjected to re-election.
Remuneration: Service on the Board is remunerated with an annual pay of £35,000 and will cover travel, and any costs in relation to board duties.

How you will make an impact
- Support and advise the Managing Director to ensure the achievement of Key Performance Indicators and Contract Management requirements for all projects and contracts.
- Ensure quality, compliance and funding is secured by the Organisation by receiving and analysing management information, risk analysis and finance summaries and contributing to the overall Governance in these key areas.
- Represent and raise awareness of the service/s to the wider community, including Local Authorities, Public and Private sector Organisations, and various other groups where appropriate. This will include supporting RetrofitWorks fundraising efforts. More than anything, we are looking for a team player who is passionate in their expertise. More about the role
- Ideally, be a recognised leader in the field of residential retrofit and as such assist in steering the direction and being an external face of RetrofitWorks.
- Chair bimonthly board meetings, regularly reviewing and feeding back on key information relating to governance, finances, business development, membership and strategy
- Engage and steer other members of the board, with bimonthly 1:1 meetings with other directors surrounding key issues relating to governance, finances, business development, membership and strategy and ensure that board resolutions are met.
- Being a trusted advisor to the Managing Director as they develop and implement RetrofitWorks' strategic plan.
- Developing and managing relationships and communicating with funders, councils, members, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
- As a board member, approving RetrofitWorks' annual budget, audit reports, and material business decisions; being informed of, and meeting all, legal and fiduciary responsibilities.
- Reviewing outcomes and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) created by RetrofitWorks, evaluating its impact, and regularly measuring its performance and effectiveness using those KPI's.
- Coordinating an annual performance review of the Managing Director.
- Assisting the Board and members of the cooperative and selection or the election of Board Directors (Where appropriate).
- Acting as an ambassador for the organisation. Ensuring RetrofitWorks commitment to a diverse board and staff that reflects the communities RetrofitWorks serves.
Financial Security and Fundraising
- In collaboration with the Managing Director and other Directors and employees, ensuring RetrofitWorks success and sustainability, looking at able to pay contracts, membership, fundraising efforts to ensure RetrofitWorks' overall financial health.
- Identifying work and development opportunities for the organisation.
Organisational responsibilities.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and Operations Director to provide strategic visioning for the organisation.
- To always act in accordance with the policies of the Organisation.
- Support the management team in resolving key strategic issues, disputes and partnership management. Job Types: Part-time, remunerated.
