Piping Designer / Engineer ( with Plant 3D or PDMS/ E3D) Contract Inside IR35 ( WFH 2 days) Rate negotiable Based in Ellesmere Port area. This is a contract (or perm if preferred) opportunity that would suit a recently graduated / qualified Designer or Design Engineer with 3 + years CAD experience in a process industry. Or a more experienced designer without a degree but a good level of process industry experience. Working with our bluechip client based in the Cheshire area, we are looking for a Piping Designer to join an innovative technology company dedicated to developing advanced solutions that contribute to a sustainable energy mix. You will be part of an international team working together with Engineers from other European offices eg Germany. This role is in a very sensitive part of the nuclear industry and requires a high level of security clearance which for a UK passport holder ( Not dual nationality) which is currently taking 6-8 weeks to achieve. As a Piping Designer, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, contributing to the design and implementation of advanced pipework systems for sustainable energy solutions. Your expertise will directly impact the success of projects and play a vital role in shaping a cleaner and more sustainable energy landscape. Our client is ideally looking for candidates with good levels of experience with PDMS or E3D but the company will now offer training on E3D ! Key Responsibilities: • Develop plant layout plans in cooperation with process engineers and customers. • Create concept designs for process pipework, including physical arrangements, routing optimisation, and pipework support structures. • Utilise E3D (AVEVA) for modelling and drawing creation. • Develop detailed designs and sequencing for in-house manufacturing. • Participate in steel construction planning and coordinate steel construction and earthquake calculations. • Present designs to internal stakeholders and external customers. • Attend design reviews (single and multi-discipline). • Maintain and expand specialist knowledge of pipework designs. • Provide engineering support to the manufacturing department during pipework system production. • Offer installation and testing support for pipework systems at customer sites. Qualifications & Experience: • Degree in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred. • Several years of experience in process/chemical plant piping design. • Strong knowledge of EU and US standards (EN, ASME). • Experience using E3D or PDMS; training on E3D may be provided for candidates with other 3D software experience. • Knowledge of MS Office tools and experience with plant design software such as Plant 3D is desirable. • A structured, efficient, and results-oriented approach to work. • Strong customer focus with excellent interpersonal and teamworking skills. • Flexibility to travel in the UK and overseas. • SC security clearance required (or ability to obtain). Additional Skills (Desirable): • German language skills are advantageous. • French language skills in addition to English are beneficial.
