About the role Estimated Start Date: Q2 2025 Fully Remote – with the opportunity for regular co-working meetups with the wider team. We are seeking a passionate and driven individual to join our expanding ESG team as an entry-level ESG Consultant . This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain a deep understanding of sustainability and ESG frameworks, with a particular focus on the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and other key ESG standards. You will work alongside our experienced consultants to support clients in navigating ESG regulations, developing sustainable strategies, and building a solid foundation in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. Additionally, you will gain hands-on experience in calculating, reducing, and offsetting greenhouse gases (GHG) and developing net-zero strategies. This role provides ample opportunities for learning, growth, and becoming an expert in the field of ESG. Core Responsibilities (approx. 67% of workload) Learning and Supporting CSRD Compliance & Advisory: Assist in understanding and supporting the implementation of CSRD requirements for clients. Help in creating clear and structured roadmaps to guide clients towards CSRD compliance. Support in conducting materiality assessments and data collection for ESG reporting. Proactively researching and staying up to date with current legislation. Apply and share learnings in order to improve our consultancy process. Non-CSRD ESG Framework Guidance: Learn about other key ESG frameworks (e.g., GRI, ISSB/SASB, TCFD) and assist with advising clients and supporting their reporting needs. Data & Reporting Enhancement: Assist in refining ESG data collection processes and ensuring accuracy for reporting purposes. Support the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards for sustainability tracking. Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity Building: Participate in workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder interviews to build knowledge of ESG principles. Support cross-functional collaboration to facilitate effective ESG communication. Staying Informed on the evolving ESG regulatory landscape: Stay updated on regulatory developments, industry benchmarks, and emerging ESG trends. Secondary responsibilities (approx. 33% of workload) GHG quantification and reporting (corporate and product specific) Development of emission reduction strategies Client calls - introductions, project scoping, project delivery Business development Internal process control - data control, CRM management, internal dashboard management Building networks (LinkedIn and email/CRM) Key Performance Indicators Timely and accurate support in ESG/CSRD reports and double materiality and materiality of information assessments. Demonstration of progress in understanding and applying ESG standards and frameworks. Timely and effective delivery of GHG/emissions reduction reports. High levels of client satisfaction and retention. Increased ESG project delivery volume for MyCarbon. Conversion of new business opportunities into projects. Basic knowledge of ESG principles or a desire to learn about regulatory frameworks such as CSRD and EU Taxonomy. Capable of reading and understanding complex standards and distilling them into actionable insights Strong analytical, project management, and organisational skills, capable of handling complex data sets and translating insights into clear recommendations. Exceptional written communication skills, ideally with experience in scientific or technical writing. Confident verbal communicator with the ability to engage with clients at executive level and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Skilled in desk-based research and data aggregation/collation.
