As a Building Physics Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing sustainable and energy-efficient buildings, helping our client to achieve their Net Zero Carbon goals. About you Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or a related field with a focus on Building Physics, Energy Modelling, or Sustainable Design Proven experience in design for performance and operational energy modelling using dynamic thermal modelling (using IES Virtual Environment preferred), with experience working across a range of building types. In-depth knowledge of thermal comfort principles, heat transfer, fabric performance and passive design strategies. Knowledge of building services and mechanical design is essential for this role. Knowledge of renewable energy systems and low-carbon technologies, as well as their integration into building designs. Knowledge of HVAC system modelling using ApacheHVAC or similar would be advantageous. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and manipulate data to inform design decisions and optimise building performance. A solid understanding of UK building regulations industry standards and certification schemes (such as BREEAM, LEED, Passivhaus, NABERS) Proficient in using Autodesk BIM/CAD software Knowledge of programming languages (Python, VBA), parametric modelling and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) would be advantageous. Chartered Engineer or Environmentalist would be desirable. Low Carbon Consultant and Low Carbon Energy Assessor, would be advantageous. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders effectively. Results driven individual, with a positive attitude and proactive mindset.
