About the role Estimated Start Date: Q2 2025 Fully Remote – with the opportunity for regular co-working meetups with the wider team. We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable ESG Consultant to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and other prominent ESG frameworks. Your primary focus will be on supporting clients with understanding CSRD requirements, assess their readiness, and implement robust ESG strategies to ensure compliance with the directive. Additionally, you will support engagements across other key ESG reporting frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, ISSB/SASB, TCFD) and contribute to greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory calculations and net-zero strategies. Core Responsibilities (approx. 67% of workload) CSRD Compliance & Advisory: Lead client engagements to ensure understanding and adherence to CSRD requirements. Develop clear, strategic roadmaps to guide clients from readiness assessments to full CSRD compliance. Conduct comprehensive double materiality and materiality of information analyses. Non-CSRD ESG Framework Guidance: Advise clients on leading frameworks (e.g., GRI, ISSB/SASB, TCFD) tailored to their industry, stakeholders, strategic objectives, and regulatory requirements. Support alignment of reporting practices across multiple standards to ensure clarity, consistency, and credibility. Data & Reporting Enhancement: Evaluate and refine ESG data collection and management processes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and verification. Develop KPIs, performance metrics, and dashboards to track sustainability progress over time. Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity Building: Conduct workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder interviews to build organisational understanding of CSRD, double materiality, and other ESG frameworks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., sustainability, finance, legal, investor relations) to integrate ESG communication. Staying Informed on the evolving ESG regulatory landscape: Stay updated on regulatory developments, industry benchmarks, and emerging ESG trends. Secondary responsibilities (approx. 33% of workload) GHG quantification and reporting (corporate and product specific) Development of emission reduction strategies Client calls - introductions, project scoping, project delivery Business development Internal process control - data control, CRM management, internal dashboard management Building networks (LinkedIn and email/CRM) Key Performance Indicators Successful delivery of ESG/CSRD reports and double materiality and materiality of information assessments. Timely and effective delivery of GHG/emissions reduction reports. High levels of client satisfaction and retention. Increased ESG project delivery volume for MyCarbon. Knowledge of the CSRD framework, double materiality concepts, and related EU initiatives (e.g., EU Taxonomy). In-depth understanding of other key ESG frameworks and standards (GRI, ISSB/SASB, TCFD). Strong analytical, project management, and organisational skills, capable of handling complex data sets and translating insights into clear recommendations. Exceptional written communication skills, ideally with experience in scientific or technical writing. Confident verbal communicator with the ability to engage with clients at executive level and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Skilled in desk-based research and data aggregation/collation. Comfortable working in a fast-paced learning environment.
