Managing Partner - Growth Equity, London About the Client: Our client is a purpose-driven European growth investment platform, committed to investing in technology companies that are primarily based in Europe and the United States. These companies are selected for their substantial positive impact on people and the planet. Role Overview: The Managing Partner, based in London, will be responsible for overseeing the entire investment process. Key responsibilities include: - Sourcing and evaluating high-potential investment opportunities. - Conducting comprehensive due diligence. - Creating and enhancing value within portfolio companies. - Monitoring investments and strategising optimal exit strategies. - Building and maintaining close, productive relationships with the CEOs of portfolio companies. - Leading the firm in collaboration with existing Partners. Candidate Profile: Experience and Background: - A minimum of 15 years of investment experience in the technology sector within Europe and/or the United States. - Extensive expertise in growth equity transactions, specifically on the buy-side. - An academic background in engineering and/or science is highly desirable. - Demonstrated passion and commitment to sustainable investing, even if lacking formal experience in the sector. Skills and Competencies: 1. Transaction and Deal Management: - Extensive experience working with management teams and co-investors on transactions. - Proficient in conducting and monitoring deal flow, underwriting, negotiating, and collaborating with third parties. - High level of rigor and attention to detail in due diligence, financial analysis, modeling, valuation, and financial structuring. 2. Leadership - Proven ability to work effectively with portfolio company management teams, attorneys, accountants, bankers, and consultants. - Exceptional intellectual capacity and curiosity. - Strong industry knowledge and a robust network. - Ability to build meaningful relationships with management teams and operators, and engage in business development. - Demonstrated ability to make a positive impression and form impactful professional relationships. 3. Internal Collaboration and Board Experience: - Proven ability to build strong internal working relationships and operate effectively in a team environment. - Significant experience as a Non-Executive Director (NED), having served on the boards of portfolio companies multiple times. - Experience in a leadership role within an investment fund.
