The Environmental Sustainability Team is dedicated to sustainable operations, encompassing energy, waste and materials, biodiversity and active travel. We work closely with colleagues across the university to coordinate cross-departmental efforts, as well as collaborating with external partners to integrate sustainability into all areas and activities.
About The Role
Contribute to the development and implementation of a decarbonisation plan to meet the University's net zero targets.
Reporting to the Director of Environmental Sustainability, this is a strategic post that will lead on the management of the utilities budget and consumption to achieve long term energy and cost security for the university. This will include all aspects of procurement, contracts, forecasting, bill validation, recharging and reporting. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing our ISO50001 compliant energy management system.
The role would suit energy management professionals with extensive experience in identifying and managing energy, water and carbon reduction opportunities and preparing effective business cases to gain support and financial investment. Demonstrable success in leading the design, delivery and management of a utility metering strategy will be highly advantageous.
