Solar Designer Location : Newcastle Job Type: Permanent Salary : £35,000 - £45,000 (happy to consider candidates on a higher salary) We are seeking a talented and innovative Design Engineer to join our client dynamic team. This role involves designing and developing state-of-the-art products that meet both functional and aesthetic standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in engineering principles and be proficient in various design software and programming languages. Day-to-day of the role: Create detailed design specifications and documentation for products. Use CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to develop precise 2D and 3D models. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project goals and deadlines. Perform simulations and analyses to validate designs, including thermal, electrical, and mechanical evaluations. Identify and resolve design issues throughout the product development process. Build prototypes and conduct tests to assess performance against specifications. Keep up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in design engineering. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks. Familiarity with programming languages is a plus. Experience with System on Chip (SoC) designs and soldering techniques is preferred. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical information. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
