Job Overview We are now seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead and develop our supply chain. This role is critical as we continue scaling our operations. The successful candidate will be part of the senior management team and will be responsible for establishing and implementing a robust supply chain strategy that aligns with our ambitious growth plans, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and strategic sourcing. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Team Management • Lead, manage, and develop a small team of buyers, goods inwards, and stores personnel, ensuring effective coordination and performance across all areas. • Foster a high-performance culture, promoting accountability, collaboration, and alignment with the company's goals and values. • Provide mentorship, training, and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities. ERP System Management Operate and optimise the use of a modern ERP system, preferably EFACS. Support the digital transformation initiatives, collaborating with the KTP team to integrate supply chain processes seamlessly. Supply Chain Strategy Development and Auditing • Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives. • Establish and oversee a rigorous auditing process to monitor and improve supply chain integrity, quality, and compliance. • Ensure the supply chain adheres to all applicable defence industry standards and requirements, maintaining compliance with JOSCAR Helios certification and any related frameworks. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Export Logistics • Oversee all aspects of export logistics, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and timely delivery to customers. • Build and maintain relationships with logistics providers to optimise global distribution. Outsourcing and Strategic Sourcing • Identify and manage outsourcing opportunities as the business scales, ensuring external production partners meet quality and delivery standards. • Develop a make-or-buy framework to guide strategic decisions, balancing cost, quality, and lead times. • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers in low-cost countries, ensuring cost-efficiency without compromising quality or ethical standards. Operational Excellence • Manage the end-to-end supply chain process, including procurement, inventory, stores, and distribution. • Establish and monitor KPIs to evaluate and improve supply chain performance. • Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and sustainability standards across the supply chain. • Collaboration and Reporting • Work closely with other senior managers to align supply chain activities with sales, production, and overall business goals. • Provide regular reports and insights on supply chain performance, risks, and improvement opportunities to the leadership team. Qualifications and Skills • Proven experience in supply chain management within an industrial SME, with leadership responsibility over buyers, goods inwards, and stores personnel. • Outstanding knowledge of modern ERP systems, with EFACS experience highly desirable. • Strong understanding of export logistics and international trade compliance. • Experience in developing and implementing supply chain strategies from the ground up. • Demonstrated ability to audit supply chain processes to ensure compliance with defence industry standards, including JOSCAR Helios certification. • Experience in make-or-buy decision-making and strategic sourcing from low-cost countries. • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities. • Proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
