Your Mission: As the Energy Strategy Manager, you'll own and drive Heathrow's long-term energy strategy, making them leaders in renewable energy adoption within the aviation sector. You’ll be a key player in transforming Heathrow into a net-zero airport, with a high-visibility role that blends cutting-edge energy solutions with bold sustainability goals. What You’ll Be Doing: Spearhead the development and execution of Heathrow's long-term energy strategy, ensuring a seamless transition to renewable energy sources. Stay ahead of the curve in energy trends, policy changes, and emerging technologies, keeping Heathrow at the cutting edge of sustainability. Oversee high-impact initiatives like decarbonising heat systems and upgrading electricity networks to make Heathrow a model for green infrastructure. Work across departments—Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and more—to turn strategy into action and build a sustainable airport ecosystem. Identify and develop business cases for key energy investments that will drive Heathrow’s sustainability agenda forward. Lead and expand solar PV and hydrogen solutions at Heathrow, championing projects that power the future of aviation with green energy. Build strong relationships with government bodies, local authorities, and industry groups, advocating for energy policies and solutions that support sustainability. What We’re Looking For: Deep expertise in energy management, market trends, carbon accounting, and renewable energy technologies. Proven ability to create and implement strategic energy plans, with clear goals and measurable outcomes. Experience leading complex, high-profile projects and managing cross-functional teams to deliver on time, on budget, and with impact. Strong skills in stakeholder management, with a talent for engaging senior leaders and external partners to drive change. Ability to develop solid business cases, manage negotiations, and bring financial acumen to energy investments. Relevant graduate or post-graduate qualifications in energy management, sustainability, or a related field. A true commitment to advancing sustainability and achieving Net Zero targets at Heathrow. Bonus Points If You Have: Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in the context of airports or transport hubs.
